Featured Player BlueOggster On FIFA 10

13 Jan 2010

Mark 'BlueOggster' Routledge is one of the guys behind a brand-new site aimed at collecting serious Clubs players together for some quality teamplay. The FIFA Virtual Pro Association could be the place for you - and your Game Face - if you're looking for an organised challenge.

1. What is your first name? Mark

2. Where do you live? Carlisle, Cumbria, United Kingdom

3. What do you do? Work for Nestle, Lead Op, been there for 21 years.

4. Rumour has it you're one of the guys behind a new Pro Club Championship community - the FIFA Virtual Pro Association. Tell us more! Yeah that's correct...

The FVPA has been created as an all-in-one online community to bring together 10v10 Pro Club Championship teams. From the serious Clubs who set up and maintain a website to the community websites that already offer different styles of leagues and tournaments, FVPA will allow them to submit full 10v10 teams to represent their respective communities.

One of the main reasons for building this community website is to get to know other teams, managers and players so we can work on playing true 10v10. As this doesn't happen all too regularly within Pro Club Championship, climbing the ranks is quite hard unless you're on it for hours every day. We felt that having a community of this nature would be a useful for everyone who plays FIFA! We would like teams to have fun, follow a simple Code of Conduct and be proud to be endorsed by the FVPA.

5. How can people join your community? They can find us on the official EA Clubs forums daily, or they can visit our site, sign up and have a look about. There are always people in the chatroom to offer advice.

6. What are your top tips for playing 10v10 FIFA online successfully? Enjoy it. Have a tinker about and find the best formation that suits your team, and make sure everyone has a microphone... it's good to talk. It makes a huge difference - communication is vital.

7. So how long have you been a gamer? Since the spectrum 48K, 1982 (offline of course). The Match of the Day footy game.

8. What's the story behind your ID/Gamertag? I support Carlisle Utd and Everton, so my favourite colour is Blue. And my nickname is Oggy (long story).

9. What was your first console? Grandstand Console was my first in the '70s. It consisted of white sticks as people and a white dot as the ball. You could play football and tennis. It's come along way... hehe

10. What console do you mainly use these days? I only use Xbox360 Elite. My son has his own Xbox as well.

11. What team do you play as? Why? On Clubs (FIFA Corinthians II FC) we play with River Plate... we just love the white and red strip. In ranked 1v1 games, I play with England.

12. What is the first videogame you were ever hooked on? FIFA International Soccer on the SEGA Mega Drive, 1993.

13. Outside videogames, who's your favourite team? Carlisle Utd and Everton

14. Did you play sports in school? Which ones and what position? I played rugby, basketball, cricket and football. I was a centre back on the football team.

15. Give us a link for your site again, just in case anyone missed it...
