FIFA 10 Ultimate Team: Tournaments

17 Feb 2010

New video and screenshots.

FIFA 10 Ultimate Team is now only a few days away. You'll be able to download it for your copy of FIFA 10 on 25th February. And to whet that appetite just a little bit more, here's some new stuff to look at. Specifically, we're talking tournaments.

While tournaments were a big part of Ultimate Team last time, with FIFA 10 they're a much bigger deal. Offline and online tournaments are once again permanent fixtures of the mode, but the all-new Featured Tournaments are where you'll really notice the changes.

Featured Tournaments will feature fresh new tournaments to enter on a regular basis, fed into the game by the team at EA over the whole lifetime of FIFA 10 Ultimate Team. Each new tournament will only be available for a limited time and will challenge you to build new squads in order to meet certain criteria for entry. So, that might be a squad not exceeding a three-star rating, or a squad with a minimum number of players of a certain nationality.

The criteria will change every time, and every tournament will offer you a new opportunity to win coins and add another trophy to your cabinet.

A big change in FIFA 10 Ultimate Team is the chance to create multiple squads from all the players in your Club, meaning you can create squads on the fly in order to enter any and all tournaments that drop into the game.

To make life even easier, this very website will soon feature a whole new way to manage your squads. You'll be able to log in here and access all the players in your club, swapping them into new squads the moment a new tournament is announced. And then, when you return to your console, the changes you've made on the website will be reflected right in the game.

We'll bring you more news on that soon. In the meantime, have a look at these brand new screenshots.
