There are lots of exciting new changes to the way we allow you to showcase your skills on EASPORTSFootball.com. First, you'll notice that we've merged two old pages; the old My EA Football World page has combined with the old Profile page to create the all-new Player Hub.
All your profile information, friends lists, game stats and more are now contained within the Player Hub, but the best way to see everything that has changed is to log in and see it for yourself!
Where's my Avatar?
EASPORTSFootball.com now allows you to choose between the old-style 2D Avatar and the new 3D Game Face, which is of course what you can also download into EA SPORTS FIFA games to use with your Virtual Pro.
If you select the 3D Game Face (select the "Default Avatar" checkbox on your Player Hub page to do this), you'll see all your thumbnails across the site change. If your avatar looks a little off centre, make sure you hit save to refresh our database and restore you to your usual handsome self.
Can I still buy items for my 2D Avatar?
You can still get to the 2D Avatar store while viewing the 2D Avatar, so you can select a range of new outfits. However, we are now focusing our efforts on the new 3D Game Face technology, so don't expect too many updates for the old model.
What are Personas?
A Persona is your identity on the site. It is the name you are known by on EASPORTSFootball.com and how your friends can find you.
When you first loaded up a FIFA game (or any EA SPORTS game, for that matter) on Xbox 360 or PS3 and took it online, you created an EA SPORTS account with a username and a password. You can sign into EASPORTSFootball.com using that same email address and password. Once you have, you can choose your default Persona.
If, say, you created your account on Xbox 360, then that's the one you'll want to select - it will probably have the same name as your Gamertag. If you're lucky enough to have a PS3 as well, you can add that via the 'Add Persona' option and access that, too.
Additionally, if you register an EA SPORTS account for the first time via the EASPORTSFootball.com website (or EASPORTS.com, which shares the same login), you will be prompted to select an EA ID. This will be your Persona on the site if you don't have one linked to your console.
How do I connect with my friends?
Because your friends lists on Xbox 360 or PS3 are restricted to those consoles, EA SPORTS has created a friends list that you can take anywhere. It's easy to add your friends from the console to your friends list on EASPORTSFootball.com.
To find a friend, use the Search Now box at the very top of the site and enter their console name. Once you have found them, send them a friend request. Once your friend has accepted the request you can find them via your Player Hub, in the Friends box. You will then be able to send them messages, examine their game stats, compare your game performances, view their uploaded videos and more.
Don't forget to leave a message for them on their Player Hub Message Wall to let them know you dropped by!
What's new with Leaderboards?
We have revamped Leaderboards. Via the Statistics tab on your Player Hub, you can now see the global leaderboards for the game, as well as where you rank amongst your Friends.
Use the dropdown menus to select the game you want, and whether you're interested in online or offline leaderboards (FIFA 10 doesn't currently support offline stats, however).
The Friends Leaderboards are the perfect reason to go and link to all your EA SPORTS friends so you can compare and contrast stats and prove who is the greatest at any given game.
What else has been updated?
There are also these new tabs in the Player Hub:
Media - access all your uploaded videos, EA SPORTS Replay compilations and screenshots. Also find links here to mash up your videos into EA SPORTS Replays and enter the weekly video competition for a regular chance to win real prizes.
Clubs & Leagues - Join a Pro Club and track your Pro Club Championship team, keep up to date with your game schedule and more. Also find here the latest information on the weekly Live Season updates.
Messaging - Your inbox. Send messages to your friends.
Requests - Accept or decline incoming friend requests, as well as track the friend requests you've sent yourself.
Once you've had a look around, be sure to come back here and let us know what you think and help us continue to improve your EASPORTSFootball.com experience.
