New commentary for Manager Mode and Virtual Pro

by Romily Broad | 11-September-2009

We know that in the past we've neglected to give Manager Mode the commentary depth it deserves. Quite frankly, we have been focused on the challenges of just getting a 90 minute match right! So, this year, for FIFA 10, we listened to the feedback and decided to devote a large portion of our commentary development time to supporting Manager Mode and Virtual Pro progression.

by Marcel Kuhn | 31-August-2009

So much has happened since my last blog - where to start. Let's recap quickly...we've talked about FIFA 10 Match Realism and Transfer Authenticity in the last blog. The remaining two major Manager Mode topics I want to cover are Player Development and Football Atmosphere.

Manager Mode - Authenticity Part 1: Match Realism and Transfer Authenticity

by Marcel Kuhn | 07-August-2009

Hopefully you've all read the first couple of blogs being released by my colleagues David and Christophe. They provided a really good overview about FIFA 10 in general and specifically the game play and online parts of the game. In this blog I will talk about the Manager Mode feature, where we have put a lot of Development focus this year.

by Romily Broad | 16-July-2009

We grabbed FIFA 10 producer David Rutter for a chat. We also managed to sneak out some snippets of video of the game's customisable set pieces in action. Check it out.

About The Bloggers

David Rutter is the Line Producer for FIFA 11 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. A lifelong football fan, David supports Leicester and Hitchin Town. In addition to playing FIFA, Rutter also enjoys CoD, GRAW, and NHL.
Aaron McHardy is responsible for gameplay design on FIFA 11. He did that on FIFA 08, 09 and 10, too. A professional footballer prior to working at EA, Aaron displayed his skills for the motion-capture cameras on FIFA Street and FIFA Street 2.
Marcel Kuhn is a producer on FIFA 11 with a big focus on the all-new Career Mode. Prior to EA, Marcel worked for a marketing agency in Germany for several years and, later, worked for a comic publisher.
Romily Broad is community manager for EA SPORTS Football World. Principally, that means he gets to play FIFA a lot and claim that it's actual work. Between games he also brings us the weekly FIFA podcast and all the cool stuff you might find over at EASPORTSFootball.com.
Christophe Labrune came to EA Canada from France in 2001 and, after some time in QA and localistion, joined the FIFA crew for FIFA 2004. He was Online Producer for FIFA 10 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and now runs the Football Live Team for the FIFA series. If you're a forumite, you'll find him there as "EA_FLT".
Stevie Morgan has worked in sports broadcasting for the past 12 years, despite always being picked last for football at school. He has also founded a support group for fellow fans of Southampton FC who, like him, have found things a bit much over the past few years and are suffering from post-Premiership depression.
